Christmas Shirt Day is tomorrow, December 25. This holiday celebrates the work of a man whose Christmas shirt design was rejected by a Wisconsin department store in 1947. With just an orange tie, coffee stains, and an optimistic outlook on life he sold his designs for $25 to servicemen in restaurants and small guest rooms until his death at age 99 in 1999. In a fanciful tale reminiscent of the frozen head of Walt Disney, his family kept his body frozen until they could find a way to clone him. After trying to prove his cryogenic state with pictures, they finally procured DNA samples and cloned him with a mix of cow cells and their own. After years of fighting for government funding, the family was able to sustain him in an incubator for "only" $3 million a year.
